Vulnerability assessment & VAPT services

VAPT stands for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. Teams in India often use it when asking for an independent application security review, but the label alone does not define the depth of work. Wisp Security agrees on the Android, web, and API surfaces, the validation required, and the reporting deliverables before an engagement begins.

What the assessment covers

An agreed application inventory

Identify the builds, domains, endpoints, roles, and environments included in the assessment. A report should make clear which parts of the product were reviewed and which remained outside scope.

Finding validation

Investigate potential vulnerabilities and distinguish confirmed behavior from scanner output or an unverified concern. Findings explain the access and conditions needed for the issue to matter.

Risk and prioritization

Describe severity alongside the affected data, user roles, and realistic consequences. This context helps teams decide what to fix first instead of treating every technical observation as equally urgent.

Actionable reporting

Bring evidence, reproduction steps, and remediation guidance into one report for engineering and leadership. The agreed deliverables identify coverage and limitations as well as security findings.

How we test

A vulnerability assessment emphasizes identifying and prioritizing weaknesses. Penetration testing adds investigation of how a weakness can be used to cross a security boundary within an authorized scope. We discuss the decision you need to make, then agree on the appropriate combination. An assessment is a review of a particular scope at a particular time; it is not a guarantee that a product has no vulnerabilities.

What to prepare

  • The product surfaces and business decision the assessment should support.
  • Any customer security questionnaire or report requirements that affect the deliverables.
  • Test access, account roles, builds, and the preferred assessment environment.
  • The deadline and whether a separate remediation retest needs to be included in the quote.

What you receive

  • A defined scope, assessment coverage, and documented limitations.
  • Validated findings with severity, reproduction steps, and supporting evidence.
  • Remediation guidance that helps engineering plan and verify corrective work.

Questions about vulnerability assessment & vapt

What is the difference between VA and PT?
Vulnerability assessment focuses on identifying and prioritizing weaknesses. Penetration testing investigates practical exploitability and impact within agreed boundaries. A VAPT engagement should state how both are covered.
Does a VAPT report automatically meet a customer's compliance requirements?
No. Share the required scope, format, and any assessor eligibility conditions before commissioning the work. A technical assessment report and a specific certification or regulatory approval are different deliverables.
How much do VAPT services cost?
Wisp uses custom pricing. The quote depends on the application surfaces, roles, testing depth, access, reporting requirements, and any agreed retest. Send a scope summary to request a quote.
